We'll start with the category and end with the product
Step 1: Decide on a category
The first thing to decide on is the niche. We are interested in the niche in which we can sell the product with minimal competition and the highest profit. It sounds pretty obvious, but, unfortunately, not everyone thinks this way and go into vosokokonkompetitive niches with large revenues and trying to move sellers with huge turnovers and products that have long established themselves in the top positions in the output both in search and in the category as a whole. Perhaps this way brings someone luck, but it is very thorny and requires more investment when you start trading on the marketplace.
We suggest a different way - to consciously approach the choice of a niche, paying attention to such indicators as:
- revenue
- share of goods with sales
- number of sellers
- share of sellers with sales
These are the main indicators that will tell you which categories you should pay more attention to. Let's take a look at each of them.
Revenue
It is worth choosing categories that have a large capacity, so that you are not limited by the low demand for goods in the category. As an example of such a niche can be the category "Maternity suits".
The category has good fundamentals - a fairly high percentage of products with sales and a good share of sellers with sales. There are not too many sellers themselves, which can also be a plus in some cases. But the low revenue spoils everything. With a niche capacity of 442 thousand lire per month, we won't be able to take a big bite out of this pie because the pie itself is small. Let's now look at the category with the best performance.
Here the indicators are better, even the revenue is such that you could compete for it (considering that there are only 11 products with sales). But the category is quite niche and we would not recommend entering the market with it. There are too few sellers and too few products. The product is very niche and buying it can be a problem. Of course, if you know where you are going to buy it and you have a good price for it, then you can go on Trendyol with it. For the rest of us, I would recommend looking for simpler products.
While writing this article, we realized that we needed to add filters to the table. So we added filters for share of products with sales and share of sellers with sales. Let's use them! We set "share of goods with sales from" 60% and "share of salespeople with sales from" 60% (we tried to set the percentages higher, but then nothing is found). It's much more convenient!
As a result we were given either overly general categories or clothing/dietary supplement/gold. It's worth looking at all categories for odd sales. For example:

Step 2: Define the price range
I will be considering Probiyotik ve Prebiyotik. The category does not contain obvious leaders and monopolists. Many products have quite a high share of sellers. There are a lot of products in the category, as much as 13 pages (and each page has 100 pieces). I'll start by choosing the price range. I will sort it by revenue in descending order.
Here I look at the number of products and the share of products with sales (it's a good idea to choose the maximum) and the share of sellers with sales (I believe this number equals our chances of making a profit on our product).
Let's take a closer look at the 303 TL - 339 TL range. I click on it and go to the page of products with the price filter set. It is worth noting that the number of sales and revenue is counted exactly by the prices specified in the filter. That is, if the product had sales for 340 TL, this sale will not be counted.
I like the first product. He has a lot of sellers with sales. Plus he probably has more revenue than what's listed here, just at different prices. Let's get to know it.
The product actually has a revenue of 1,162,049 TL. The current price is higher than the one we filtered, which means that we can assume that half of the sales came at a price between 339 and 449 TL (this is confirmed by the sales table below the graph). The sales chart is flat, without sharp jumps, which shows that it can be trusted. See below. Tables position in category and position in search. In them, our product is not in the top. It once visited the first page of the Probiyotik ve Prebiyotik category (https://app.restatos.com/trendyol/category/1310417/products) and quickly left it.
Overall I like this product. If you play with the price or try to advertise, you can try to enter Trendyol with this product and compete with the current players.
